Quick update: Life in Nosara has been much more busy than expected. We’ve lived here now for over 2 weeks and have made a home of a very cozy (300 sq. foot!) studio apartment!. It’s called “Casa Surfeando” as you can see in the photos and it’s conveniently located in the small beach town of Playa Guiones, which is a popular vacation destination here on the Nicoya Penninsula. We’ll be staying here until the end of July and are enjoying every moment.
Nosara is home to the famous Nosara Yoga Institute, which you can read more about at nosarayoga.com or in my Yoga tab above. I’m currently participating in a phenomenal, life-changing 200-hr Yoga Teacher Certification program, while Mike spends his days working and surfing. The program is incredibly intense with days starting at 5:30am and ending at 9pm, 7 days a week. Nonetheless, I chose this specific program because it’s designed to engage in interdisciplinary yoga practices and establish an effective adult learning environment through self-inquiry and collaboration.
In our downtime, we spend our days cooking in our tiny kitchenette, buying delicious local produce and playing in the ocean! “Pura vida” as locals say, meaning “pure life” is something we’re embodying as we transition from our California life to our Costa Rican life.
One Sunday morning we rented a Suzuki 4×4 Jimny and drove up to San Juanillo beach for some snorkeling and relaxing.

Wow Marisa, it looks amazing! I like the name of the Casa!
Your pictures of San Jose and Nosara are beautiful. We are eager to hear how Marisa’s program is going. xxoo
